Republic Day

26th Jan, 2005 - Indian Republic became 55years old. A great honor for World's largest democracy. The whole country celebrated the Republic day by Hoisting the tri-color national Flag & participating in cultural activities. The main attraction for today was the Parade at Rajpath Bhavan in New Delhi where President APJ Abdul Kalam hoisted the flag and observed the parade by Indian Armed Forces & Representatives of various states. This parade demonstrated the advanced weapons to the nation and to the invited dignitories of the various countires. Noteworthy is the Chief Guest of today's parade, His Highness Jigme Sigme Wanchuk, King of Bhutan. By inviting Bhutan's King to the Parade as chief guest, India showed the confidence in her Himalayan Friend. Both countires share the mutual trust and work towards the betterment of both countries. We welcome you Sir and assure the Bhutaneese people that India is with them in every thick and thin.
The main concern for the country was to maintain peace and security in all over the country as the enemies and militants target the Republic day gathering to create the panic and damge to the country. With the brilliant efforts of the Indian Security forces and Armed Forces, no damaging incident was observed except for few small incidents. Noteworthy is the peaceful parade in Jammu and Srinagar (The Pride of India).
We as a nation should look forward to bring prosperity and happiness to our fellow people by doing whatever we are capable of. Lets hold our hands together and heads high, be proud of our republic and help each other to grow and prosper.
